Vimeo has decided to discontinue its On Demand platform this autumn. If you have been thinking about purchasing our archives, now is the time:
For years we have made our documentaries available through Vimeo. Their sudden decision means that our films will no longer be available there after 20 November 2026.
Meanwhile, we still offer the two documentary collections, either individually or as a Bundle: π¬ The 2026 βARCHIVEβ β the five-day interview with Frank Arjava Petter, charting adventurous discoveries, disputed controversies, enigmatic lineages, and what reconciliation looks like when dialogue continues. π¬ The 2017 Archive β the five-day interview with Phyllis Lei Furumoto, addressing discrimination, finances, power struggles, betrayal, regret, forgiveness and legacy, while offering insights across three generations.
Both archives remain available for purchase on Vimeo until 21 September 2026.
If you purchase the videos, we recommend downloading them to your own device. They will remain yours to enjoy long after Vimeo's service has ended.
In the meantime, we are working on a new home for our films and will let you know here as soon as we have news. Please also see the Important Notice on our website, including download instructions.
Thank you for your continued support of this project.

I purchased the bundle and watched the first 66 with Phillis and now just watched 44 with Arjava- and they are very thought provoking. But what struck me was the linage discussion. Reiki is available to all-it’s simple in that one aligns with it, it’s not copyrightable. It’s known in various ways in variety of cultures. For example an Aboriginal healing practice is available for people in a South Australian hospital- it may be reiki but simply practiced differently. Tomita (1933) wrote that hand healing (reiki)may even be aquired by continued daily gassho/seiza meditation. What differs is how it’s taught and the teacher’s training and symbols used and how they’re used. That’s the difference. I discovered within the first year of practice how teacher training makes all the difference when they are teaching others. For example my initial instructor taught us that you shouldn’t use reiki on broken bones and you can even cause harm if you put too much reiki into vulnerable places! Hence why Jikiden and Arjava Institue insists on repeating every level. Myths and fear messaging enter when training isnt thorough enough to stand up to the test of time. Preventing misinformation, potential confusion and control. Things were dropped from Takatas teaching due to the threat of being thrown into an American version of a concentration camp. That was made clear in Justine Stein’s text Alternate Currents- I guess it’s up to each individual reiki practitioner if they wish to learn what Takata was forced to drop for her personal safety. Reiki still works the difference is only in the practioners desire for professional development. That’s what the community has to reconcile.

β’ My position is in between the opposing fronts. Because I want to be open to talk with each side.
β’ I believe that dialogue alone can lead to peace.
β’ I condemn terrorism and its atrocities, violations of international agreements and desecration of humansβ dignity. By whoever.
β’ I am against war.
β’ I take responsibility for my own feelings such as resignation, fury or fear. Above all, I empathise with the victims of violence. Everywhere.
β’ I am not helpless and I trust that I can do something in the face of any adversity. Always.
